Maritime Experiential Museum

Hi peeps! I wanted to share my feelings about our trip to Maritime Experiential Museum, but it took me forever to upload all the photos here. Thus, please go to my Facebook to view the photos. Heehee, anyway it was really a great experience for knowing the history of Admiral Zheng He. In case you don't know who he is, I'm gonna explain a little bit about him.

Admiral Zheng He (1371-1433) was born in Jinning Country, Kunming City of Yunnan Province. He was originally surnamed 'Ma', and later was known as 'San Bao' (Three Treasures). He was raised as a Muslim, and started to study the teachings of Islam at an early age. However, during their military cleansing of the remnants of the Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368) in Yunnan around 1381, this young boy was captured and castrated by Ming Dynasty forces. He was then forced to join the army, where he excelled and earned his name 'Zheng'. He travelled to over thirty countries with over 300 ships, including the treasure fleet, and 28,000 sailors. He is credited as the first man to establish a sea route directing the western Pacific and the Indian Ocean worlds.

Oh well, you guys may find out more about him through history books. For me, I will find some time to watch those historical shows to find out more about him, because I scared that I might fall asleep when reading books. HAHAAHA!

Anyway, it's worth for this experience! The admission ticket will definitely be cheaper if you apply free RWS membership outside the RWS casino. Without the membership, you have to pay $11 for an admission ticket. HOWEVER, with the membership, you only need to pay $6! Worth it not?
