Madapple :)

Finally, I have posted up all the pictures taken at Sentosa. I have been working full day since I started to work on Monday. Of course, it was tiring for me to blog after work. Therefore, I can only managed to blog on my off-day.

I am happily working~ Not only because I can earn my own keeps, it is also because there is a library for me to read books during my break time. I kept borrowing books whenever I have time to go library. Baby said that I am insane because I am working at bookstore and yet, I am not tired of reading/looking at books. It is true that I really love reading because I enjoy it! Hahaha!

Oh yar, I have finished reading Madapple, like finally?!

Okay, anyway the summary of Madapple is as follows:
Aslaug has been brought up in near isolation by her mother, taught a wealth of knowledge including the lore and uses of plants and the ancient languages. Orphaned by her mother's sudden death, Aslaug sets out to find the family that she never knew she had, leading her into a dense mystery of botany, religion, genealogy—and tragedy.

Initially, I thought of giving up reading this tough book because the flow of the storyline is quite confusing and the contents are disturbing. It is confusing because the story does not flow as what are happening to the female lead and her family from the start to the end. Instead, the story unfolds in alternating chapters as her life story and her court trial for murder. At first, I stared blankly at the book and got puzzled by what messages the author is trying to convey to her readers. As I continued to read, I realized that there are climax every chapter which urged me to read. And I can really judge this book by its cover – creepy, horror and dark. Although the contents are quite disturbing, I am quite impressed by well-written plot. However, Madapple isn’t for everyone because there are too many references on religious texts, botany theories, ancient languages and mythology. Unless the readers are interested in any topics, the whole book may go right over their heads. Amazing that I have finished this creepy book uh?

Ala! Counting down 2 more months to my birthday! However, I have not prepared anything for my party yet. A lot of things to be done for my birthday party and it isn't easy. I have been cracking my brain to think about the ideas of birthday plans. Okay, maybe I should jot down the ideas on my birthday plan in the notebook so that I will not miss out any details :) I need help too!
